Description

Penstemon 'Stapleford Gem'

Height x Spread: 60cm x 60cm

This bushy perennial has trumpet-shaped blooms during the summer, which are a delightful pale blue with hints of lilac, they have a white throat with dark purple veins. Narrow linear green semi-evergeen leaves cover the stems beneath the flowers.

'Stapleford Gem' is loved by bees and other pollinators. Ideally Penstemons prefer a fertile, moisture-retentive, free draining soil in a sunny spot. Deadhead the flowers as they fade to encourage further blooms. Cut this perennial back in spring after the last frosts have passed. Penstemons are perfect for small gardens providing colour over a long period of time and really earning their space in the border.
