Rudbeckia fulgida 'American Gold Rush'
Height x Spread: 60cm x 90cm
From late summer deep into autumn, 'American Gold Rush' puts on a flamboyant display of golden yellow daisy flowers each punctuated by a bold dark brown cone. Sporting narrower and hairier leaves than other Rudbeckia fulgida cultivars it is also more compact and will find a comfortable home anywhere from the front to the middle of a border, catching and holding the eye.
Its saturated jewel-like colour is easy to weave into the autumnal garden, combining well with deep blues, rusty oranges and purples. Guaranteed to add a vibrant pop to a sunny container on your terrace, we like to mix it with an ornamental grass such as Molinia and tumbling Ceratostigma. This veritable pollinator magnet is easy to grow in full or partial sun in any reasonable to moist but well drained soil.
