Pulmonaria are commonly known as Lungwort, 'Blue Ensign' produces wonderful clusters of delicate gentian blue flowers during the spring. This strong-growing perennial has broad lance-shaped green foliage, which acts as the perfect foil for its beautiful blue flowers.
Best when grown in a moisture-retentive, humus-rich soil in partial shade. Woodland settings are perfect, plant beneath deciduous trees and shrubs or at the edges of shady borders.
